Grand T. Ed - 1993

Grand T. Ed is a character I created for fellow cartoonist Grant Dickerson. We met in 1992 when I went to work at MARC Telemarketers and he was a supervisor. When he saw my doodles he told me he loved comics and drawing, too. Later on he found out that I had previously worked at a game company that made miniatures for gamers, and that I had made some miniatures for myself. He was also interested in sculpting and modeling.

When Grant saw the "Mr. Nuclear" comic series, he put out the idea of us collaborating, where each would do pages back and forth, and just let a plot create itself. A good idea, but we needed characters and a slight premise to begin. Grant wanted a character that would fit into the Mr. Nuclear comic universe, so I created Grand T. Ed.

Grand T. Ed looks a lot like Grant, except for the clothes. Since Mr. Nuclear is a space and dimensional traveler, I made Grant the captain of his own ship, and a mercenary similar to Hans Solo with a comic twist. We never did collaborate on a comic.

Note: The original copy of this comic went MIA. This reproduction was made from an inferior photocopy.
